A PSF in Gosaba provides the village with clean drinkingwater

Since August 2009 a Pond Sand Filter (PSF) in Gosaba has provided 200 people and the close by hospital with safe drinking water. The filter is designed by students on behalf of UBU and has been working for more than 2 years. A local group has been tought to make monthly tests for bacteria in the water as well as being responslibe for the maintenance of filter and the pond where it is installed. The filter has become polular with the the local people and more is now on their way.

Who is UBU

UBUs main activities are the development projects in India, Tanzania and Guatemala. UBU sends staff and students on review missions, technical inputs and internships. In 2009 UBU has established a Project Coordination Group (PG), which serves a quality assurance function.
Other activities relate to the management of the organisation and the members. The board plans and manages e.g. member administration, accounts, public relations and member support. In 2009 UBU has revised its Vision and Mission and a strategy is under construction.
UBU has about 85 members. Being a member is supporting the UBU projects and other work. Members receive newsletters and other information, are welcome to participate in UBU's activities and can obtain training in development work.
