UBU participated in the largest COP15 demonstration

On 12 December 2009 perhaps 100,000 people demonstrated against the climate changes. UBU also participated in telling the leaders of the world to be ambitious in their promises and take the lead towards a less dangerous development.

A group of UBU members with a visible small but tall banner contributed to the succesful demonstration, among other things with a small intimate music session. We were right behind the group 900 demonstrators that were taken abrubtly out of the demonstration by the police, accused for planning violence.

UBUs participation did unfortunately not lead to any breakthrough in the negotiations. The lacking results will presumably cater for plenty of more work to be done in flooding prone areas like in Sunderbans India for many years to come.
